The tests outlined are used to evaluate the critical performance properties and physical and chemical characteristics of thread compounds under laboratory conditions.The edition of API RP 5A3 is the identical national adoption of ISO 13678, Petroleum and natural gas industries-Evaluation and testing of thread compounds for use with casing, tubing, line pipe and drill stem elements.
